Want to know how CBD can make you feel? Time for part two of Caliva’s CBD 101 Series!
In our previous article, we touched upon where CBD comes from, and why it’s important to understand its source. In our next article in the CalivaCBD 101 series, we’re going to discuss how CBD makes you feel, and why this cannabinoid is quickly becoming a part of people’s lives everywhere--for a variety of different reasons! If you’ve got questions or are on the fence about starting a CBD regimen because you’re unsure of its effects, well, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s delve a little deeper into the conversation surrounding CBD and ask, just how does this cannabinoid make you feel?
What Does CBD Not Make You Feel Like?
No worries, it’s always good to know how you won’t feel after taking CBD
If you’re new to the CBD game, one of your first questions (besides “what is CBD”) is probably “how does it make you feel.” Chances are you’re worried about whether or not CBD products will make you feel high. Well, the answer is no, CBD is not a psychoactive cannabinoid (that’s why there’s THC!). You won’t have to worry about any intoxicating effects when you decide to try CBD.
Although you might hear the word cannabis when CBD is discussed, not to worry, CBD is one of many cannabinoids present in the plant that does not produce intoxicating effects. At CalivaCBD, we only carry CBD products that are hemp-derived and contain less than 0.3% of THC. That amount of THC won’t give you a high experience either--it is the limit permitted to be in hemp allowed by federal law. So now that the “big burning question” is out of the way, how exactly does CBD make you feel?
How Does CBD Make You Feel? That Depends Why You Want to Use It!
There are many reasons why people are turning to this cannabinoid
In order to know what CBD feels like, it helps to have a refresher on how it interacts with your endocannabinoid system (ECS). This system helps your body regulate important functions to help you feel your best. The receptors in this system are designed to bind with cannabinoids--either internal ones or external ones-- like CBD. This process allows your body to feel good and stay in balance. And whoo-hoo to that.
People who take CBD tend to experience feelings of calmness, as well as an improved mood. To sum up, CBD works to help elevate your mood, keep you feeling restored, and balanced. All in a day’s (or night’s) work for this cannabinoid.
CBD can help you feel like you again, which is one of the main reasons people like it. However, it’s also great when other life situations pop up--and they always do! Who knows, it might be your new favorite ally to help your skin stay nourished, or unwind after a long day. For instance, if you find yourself in search of help for:
CBD is versatile enough to help with these types of concerns, but how it works for you will depend on your age, weight, diet, metabolism, genetics, and any other underlying medical conditions. Thankfully as CBD becomes more commonplace, there are all kinds of ways you add it to your routine. Like to soak in the tub post-workout? Good thing there are CBD bath bombs for that. Prefer to enjoy the aroma of CBD oil as you place it on your skin? Oils, balms, salves, and lotions are perfect for this experience.
If you can think of it, chances are there’s a CBD product for it. They’re broken down into 5 major categories, so feel free to experiment and find what works for you. Your optimal dose can only be decided by you--however we always recommend starting low and slow. Make sure to take into account how you’d like to consume CBD, why you’re consuming CBD, the cannabinoids involved with your CBD product, and your past experience with CBD.

As Always, it’s Important to Know Where Your CBD Comes From
When you know the source of your CBD, you’ll have a better grasp on how it will make you feel
Another factor that can have an effect on how CBD makes you feel is where it comes from. There are a couple of different sources from which CBD is extracted, and depending on what product you decide to use, the outcome could be very different.
Hemp-derived CBD
Hemp is a relative to the cannabis plant, and is a great source for CBD. If you’re looking to start using hemp-derived CBD, make sure to look for products that are either classified as full-spectrum or broad spectrum. Full spectrum CBD products most closely resemble what is available in the plant. This means that CBD, terpenes, plant matter, and other cannabinoids (including up to 0.3% THC) are left in to encourage the entourage effect. When you decide to use a product that includes the terpenes and other cannabinoids, this can have an effect on how you feel.
Broad spectrum CBD products leave in the CBD, terpenes, and other cannabinoids except THC. You can rest assured you’ll get the entourage effect with this as well. Score!
CBD isolate is another alternative, however it only includes CBD and removes all terpenes and cannabinoids. Because of this, expect this to have an effect on your overall feeling, should you choose to use these types of products.
Marijuana-derived CBD
There are also CBD products that are derived from the marijuana plant, however they typically come with much higher THC amounts. Although THC and CBD work well together--you might just call them besties-- you should be aware that there could be some intoxicating effects associated with this type of CBD. Caliva CBD does not sell any marijuana-derived CBD products, but if you’re feeling experimental and want to try some, visit our sister site caliva.com.
